Metabolic Cage System for Rodents (Gross Activity) is a functional module of the animal energy metabolism monitoring system, which is mainly used to monitor the animal's continuous activity trajectory and count the changes in the animal's activity. The animal experiment chamber is a conventional rat cage, designed with a home-cage, which meets the requirements of long-term living of animals and can realize 24-hour monitoring.

It provides a highly flexible and modular solution for long-term monitoring of metabolism and related behavior in small laboratory animals. The system can simultaneously control various functional parameters in the breeding cage in one software, such as: respiratory entropy metabolic monitoring, feeding monitoring, drinking water monitoring, body weight monitoring, XYZ autonomous activity monitoring, running wheel activity monitoring, respiratory monitoring intake Access control, physiological telemetry monitoring modules, etc. 

It can also be customized according to users’ requirements. The standardized feeding environment can objectively monitor the metabolism and behavior of animals in natural living conditions.

 

Metabolic Cage System for Rodents (Gross Activity)

Multi-channel monitoring with scalability. The types of monitoring function modules can be expanded according to user needs.

Zirconia monitoring sensors is used for oxygen monitoring, and infrared spectrum probe is used for carbon dioxide monitoring, which has good stability and high precision.

Drinking water, food intake, and weight monitoring use high-precision electronic sensors with an accuracy of 0.1g.

l It has the function of real-time monitoring data acquisition of respiratory entropy, and each cage is equipped with a separate set of O2 and CO2 sensors. It is used to monitor the respiratory entropy of experimental animals in real time, and the monitoring rate is 1 second/time.

Spontaneous activity monitoring adopts XYZ three-dimensional optical frame, real-time monitoring of experimental animal horizontal activity, standing times, position preference information of rats and mice, circadian rhythm monitoring, sleep analysis, etc. And the user can freely select the scope of the monitoring area.

l The real-time measurement mode can achieve real-time monitoring in the energy metabolism module, diet and drinking water weight module, and XYZ three-dimensional activity module. During the whole experiment, all cages record all data continuously at the same time, providing the same time point for later data analysis. It achieve data consistency in time.

l The data analysis software has the functions of data processing, data display, experimental design and control, etc. It can display and analyze the time distribution of experimental animal behavior spectrum, animal activity position and activity intensity, animal activity, body temperature, heart rhythm and respiratory metabolism analysis, etc.
